OFFYOURFACE is proud to call Lena Berezowska one of our own, and you have welcomed her into your home too – Lena is part of the OYF design team bringing you the sick styles you’ve been wearing for years. You may not know the Krakow native personally, but with the heart and soul that Lena pours into all of her endeavors, you might know her better than you think.
“From the beginning I knew that I wanted to work in fashion design, and I always wished that I could travel and promote my brand around the world,” says Lena of her longtime design dreams. After many years of serious dedication and hard work, Lena is starting to see the light with her brand Mulholland Life, a Poland-based operation that she has traveled the world growing and promoting. “I feel the world is starting to be more international. Culture is mixed and people are interacting, and that’s what I like about the world right now. So I try to put myself somewhere in the middle, and just pull from that.”
Lena has been spending summer seasons in Ibiza on and off since she was 17, and the OFFYOURFACE stickers around the island last summer caught her attention – with a keen eye for expert promotion, OYF had done the job right. Lena remembers: “So I found the OFFYOURFACE website and I saw the tagline – ‘We are a community of people who enjoy life to the full’ – and I said ‘OMG NO’… I had to do something with them.” She gasps in recollection.
Dedicating herself to integrating the existing OFFYOURFACE brand and design with her vision and talent for variety, Lena quickly became a trusted part of the core OYF team. “When I met the team, I had this feeling I really wanted to work for them, and not about the money. Sometimes you just want to create together. You feel it. You want to work together to grow the dream and make things better than you ever imagined. I had that feeling.”
She wanders off in thought… “I still do.”
It is impressive to listen to Lena talk about the elements of design she has chosen to concentrate for OFFYOURFACE, and to imagine the minute details that we never realize go into the design and manufacture of a piece before we hang it nicely in our closet. Lena dishes about where the pockets go, wonders aloud how big the hood should be. Which colors are best for unisex styles? What’s the perfect balance of girly and manly? “When we are focused on the brand and the straightforward design, every detail counts: materials, prints, placement” – OYF has put many of those key decisions in Lena’s hands over the past year.
What most impresses Lena about OFFYOURFACE is the quality of teamwork that the group brings to their projects. She notices the sharing responsibilities, working together, with no one person pulling more weight than another. “We are accountable to each other, we keep each other going, because that’s OFFYOURFACE. Everyone wants to be a part of it, everyone wants to have their piece.”
Seamlessly, Lena slips in with the good vibes she loves so much around the OFFYOURFACE shop. She comments on the dancing, the smiling, and the good energy, and she is glad she gets to take some of that away with her when she leaves on a sunny San An afternoon. Throughout her summer days with the OYF Ibiza team, she says she is glad to see her work hanging up around the shop: “I’m happy I can be a part of this. This is a community for positive people who enoy life, and I ca make my small contribution. My stamp. Sometimes you work for money and you can’t also enjoy and be proud of what you do. OFFYOURFACE is not that. I am proud of what I have done for OYF and to be a part of the team.” And Lena fits in just fine: “Enjoy your life,” she nods, “That’s all. Just this. Experience life. That’s what’s important.”
